The $67,500 FACTOR Juried Sound Recording Program funds new, unreleased Canadian recordings (album or singles) of at least 6 tracks or 20 minutes.
NOTE:
You can only apply to one (1) juried FACTOR program per fiscal year (April 1 - March 31).
This is a competitive program, to which artists should apply if they can demonstrate current marketplace momentum along with audience growth and engagement. An artist should be able to demonstrate the recent market success and accelerating momentum in their career via quantifiable metrics in any applicable spheres of activities; this information to be included in the applicant’s marketing plan.
New artists should review the $5,000 Artist Development program.

50% of eligible Sound Recording expenses,
50% of eligible Marketing expenses,
50% of eligible Video expenses (up to $20,000 per FACTOR fiscal year, April - March),
100% of eligible Radio Marketing expenses (up to $5,000 per fiscal year)
75% of eligible Tour expenses (up to $30,000 per fiscal year)
75% of eligible Showcase expenses (up to $7,500 per fiscal year)

Editing and feedback on all materials
NOTE: For JSR projects, the editing and writing process — resulting in a professional document — is included in the application deposit. However, given how competitive the JSR program is, we recommend that your marketing plan for submission is “designed” for better presentation, to improve your chances of success. This can be done by a graphic designer on your team or yourself, or we can also provide this service for a fee (and subject to availability).
